Seed Street

Hydroponic Urban Farms - a food justice solution.

Our Mission:

Seed Street’s mission is to provide equal access to fresh, healthy, and local food by transforming freight containers into highly efficient hydroponic farms. The combination of our revolutionary technology and educational curriculum delivers sustainable solution for communities in need.

Our first hydroponic urban farm has sprouted at the Children’s Aid Society on the border of East and Central Harlem.

Our Harlem location is the base for our GROW, MOVE, CREATE and COMMUNITY programming. Our pilot S.T.E.A.M curriculum is located within both a food desert and a highly active community center, which allows us to maximize our ability to empower and nourish youths and their families. Through activities modeled around our educational program, youth and their families are introduced to healthy eating, wellness education and urban farming.

Seed Street offers management, programming, and education to ensure that every seed planted thrives.Great things grow from the smallest seeds planted.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS:  Seed Street meets with leadership at schools and other community partners to determine the viability of a program at their site.  We tailor each community partners’ approach according to their specific needs, creating a financially sustainable model within an educational context.

CURRICULUM: We implement hands on learning and community engagement through our applied S.T.E.A.M.* Curriculum. Our model is built on grounds-up, contextualized learning as the cornerstone of health and wellness empowerment.

FARMING:  We assist with setup and operations of the container farm. Our community partners can leverage our Head Farmer and have ongoing access to our network of expert resources

HARVEST: We help monetize the harvest while reinvesting it in the community through youth-managed farmer’s markets/tables, partnerships with local CSA/farm share groups, and sales through select, local for-profit Seed Street partners

The Seed Street team has deep experience designing and working in the hydroponics farming industry. The teams passion for food justice and healthy living has attracted industry leaders in hydroponics, finance, education and business development to come together to build this vision.
